The Peace Center of Connecticut, Inc. Is Honored to announce the 2019 Peace Heroes Awards. Join us as we build on the legacy of Peace by honoring our 2nd class of local and national Heroes of Peace. Our 2018 Inductees set the path for others to join our Peace Heroes Legacy Hall and our annual gala and fundraising event ensures the continuation of our work for Peace.

Peace Center & B.GOOD Let's Give Back Together Day

On Friday September 21, 2018 International Peace Day the Peace Center and B.GOOD are partnering to celebrate Peace and Community. All day on International Peace Day 5% of all sales at the Greenwich CT, Canton CT and Glastonbury CT B.GOOD restaurants will be donated to the Peace Center of Connecticut. You can make a difference while eating healthy and supporting your local community.

Chalk 4 Peace

On the eve of International Peace Day September 20, 2018 the Peace Center is having our Chalk 4 Peace event. Youth and Adults will join together across the State of Connecticut to Chalk 4 Peace. How you can join in? Get some chalk and find a place where you can draw or write messages of Peace, snap a photo of your work and upload it on your social media page. Tag the Peace Center of Connecticut and we will link that to the many others across our state chalking 4 and supporting Peace.

Bullets into Bells: Poets & Citizens Respond to Gun Violence

The Peace Center of Connecticut, Inc in partnership with Trinity College in Hartford CT host this powerful book reading and conversation. 

In the Washington Room at Mather Hall. Editors Brian Clements, Alexandra Teague, and Dean Rader discuss Bullets into Bells: Poets & Citizens Respond to Gun Violence.

Focused on the crisis of gun violence in America, Bullets into Bells brings together poems by dozens of the country’s best-known poets, including Billy Collins, Mark Doty, Rita Dove, Martín Espada, Naomi Shihab Nye, Ocean Vuong, and Juan Felipe Herrera. Each poem is followed by a response from a gun violence prevention activist. The names of all participants will be added in the coming days. The result is a persuasive and moving testament to the urgent need for gun control.
